Cedar Cottage Growth
Cedar Cottage Counselling started as a solo project from a backyard shed transformed into a cottage in 2017. As an experienced therapist, founder Michele decided to provide some time and space to clients in a backyard setting. Cedar trees are known for healing, strength, resiliency and stress relief which is often the goal for many clients. For over 5 years, Michele was truly fortunate to have worked with people from all over region stretching from Tobermory to Kitchener, East, West and in between. She also had the privilege to meet some amazing clinicians through her hospital-based work and invited them to join in a renewed Cedar Cottage Counselling Group in 2023. As Cedar does, we grew through adversity with strength demonstrating our resiliency. We are committed to continued growth and service to our clients. Creating a professional practice with clear values is our aim to provide the best for our clients.
Amie took over Cedar Cottage Counselling from Michele in January 2025, and looks forward to continuing to grow this practice by offering even more services, and responding to the needs of the community.

Land Acknowledgement:
We respectfully acknowledge that the land on which we live and practice is the traditional and treaty territory of the Anishinaabe and home to the Saugeen Ojibway Nation which is comprised of Saugeen First Nation and the Chippewas of Nawash First Nation.
We recognize and honor their deep connection to this land, which has been home to Indigenous peoples for countless generations. We acknowledge the historical and ongoing impacts of colonization, including the displacement, dispossession, and systemic injustices faced by the Anishinaabe, Métis, and Inuit communities. We pay our respects to their Elders, past and present, who have preserved their cultures, languages, and traditions.
This acknowledgment is a commitment to fostering a spirit of reconciliation and partnership. We strive to learn from the wisdom of Indigenous peoples, the stewards of our land, and we acknowledge the importance of working collaboratively towards understanding, respect, and equity.
May we walk together on this land with humility, recognizing the importance of acknowledging the past as we work towards a more inclusive and just future.
